The University Library invites you to a breakfast seminar.
When: Wednesday June13 08:15-09:15
Where: The University Library: UB296A Kalmar, Babel Växjö
An increasing number of research funders and policy makers demand that research results must be published open access. In order to meet this demand, most publishers offer several different publishing models. These involve publication in full open access journals (gold open access) or publication in traditional journals where single articles are made freely available (hybrid journals). In both models, a fee (article processing charge - APC) is charged to pay for the publication.
To speed up the transition to an openly available publishing system, different national agreements have been met with several publishers. This may include discounts on publication fees or so-called offset agreements. The offset agreements mean that the university's subscription costs will decrease as publication fees increase, ie that a new cost is balanced by another being reduced.
Ted Gunnarsson from the University Library talks about the offset agreements with Springer and Taylor & Francis, as well as the discounted publication fees that researchers at Linnaeus University are entitled to.
There will also be time for questions and discussion.
We offer coffee and breakfast sandwiches, and would therefore kindly ask you to register if you wish to attend the seminar.
Last day to register is Monday June 11
